Certification Tracks

Dry Needling

The IAMT dry needling certification is an evidence-informed, safety first course series. IAMT offers several dry needling courses and programs.

Comprehensive Manual Therapist

The Comprehensive Manual Therapist (CMT) is a certification earned by physical therapists who demonstrate the highest level of evidence-informed orthopaedic manual physical therapy (OMPT) skills. A clinician with the CMT designation represents someone who is an expert general orthopaedic physical therapist who combines advanced clinical reasoning with OMPT technical skills to skilfully screen, manage, and treat their patients.

Advanced Comprehensive Manual Therapist

The Advanced Comprehensive Manual Therapist (ACMT) is a tier 1 certification earned by physical therapists who demonstrate the highest level of advanced and evidence-informed orthopaedic manual physical therapy (OMPT) skills. A clinician with the ACMT designation represents someone who is an expert orthopaedic physical therapist with advanced training in a wide range of OMPT skills. The clinician with the ACMT designation integrates advanced clinical reasoning, pain neuroscience, and OMPT technical skills combined with comprehensive exercise prescription to skillfully screen, manage, and treat their patients. The ACMT is differentiated from the CMT by the advanced technical skills required across an eclectic spectrum of OMPT practice as well as the comprehensiveness of the examination process.

Orthopaedic Proficiency

The Orthopaedic Proficiency Certification (OPC) is a certification earned by clinicians who demonstrate the highest level of evidence-informed orthopaedic rehabilitation skills. A clinician with the OPC designation represents someone who is a movement expert, integrating advanced technical skills and pain neuroscience with comprehensive exercise prescription to skillfully manage patients along with the entire healthcare team.

Vestibular Certification

The Vestibular Certification is earned by clinicians who demonstrate the highest level of evidence-informed outpatient vestibular rehab skills. A clinician with this designation represents someone who is an expert general orthopaedic clinician who combines advanced clinical reasoning with vestibular technical skills to skilfully screen, manage, and treat their patients.
