Dry Needling Certification

The URI dry needling certification is an evidence-informed, safety first course series. URI offers several dry needling courses and programs. Clinicians who wish to earn a Dry Needling Certification must successfully complete all courses listed below, as well as a comprehensive written and practical exam:
DN1 | DN2

DN1: Dry Needling of the Lumbar Region & Lower Quarter – A Comprehensive Approach (Cost: $795)

This 3-day course is part I of our two-part introduction to dry needling coursework.  This course will focus on skill acquisition of the dry needling technique and clinical reasoning for implementing the intervention for the lumbopelvic region and lower quarter. Participants can expect to become proficient with identification of trigger points and treatment using dry needling. Safety with dry needling is emphasized with each technique. Furthermore, evidence based approaches for the use of dry needling will be emphasized – including non-trigger point approaches targeting pain modulatory pathways.

This course is open to PTs and PT students only and is appropriate for all skill levels.

DN2: Dry Needling of the Cervicothoracic Region and Upper Quarter – A Comprehensive Approach (Cost: $795)

This 3-day course is part II of our two-part introduction to dry needling coursework.  This course is designed to follow DNI and to continue to build additional skill in the use of dry needling – with an emphasis on the cervicothoracic region and upper quarter.

This course is open to PTs and PT students only. Prior completion of DN1 or other approved previous training in dry needling is required.
